Moped Riding Chain Snatchers Wanted for Robberies in 2 Boros

NEW YORK - A pair of moped riding chain snatchers are being sought by cops for robbing two females, across two boroughs within one hour, the NYPD said. One victim was only 12 years old. 


At around 1:45 pm on November 3, a 12-year-old girl was walking in the vicinity of Menahan Street and Knickerbocker Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Cops said two men rode up behind her and one of the men reached out and yanked two necklaces off the girl’s neck. 


The the crooks drove off northbound on Knickerbocker Avenue. 


An hour later, the duo struck again, this time in Queens. At around 2:45 pm a 29-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 35 Avenue and 85 Street in Jackson Heights, Queens. The moped rode up behind the woman and the passenger on the moped ripped the chain off the woman’s neck. They then rode off northbound on 85th Street. 


The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspects. The driver is described as a male with a medium complexion and heavy build. He was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, and light colored pants. 


The passenger is described as a male with a medium complexion and slim build. He was last seen wearing a multicolored jacket and dark colored pants.
