NEW YORK - The NYPD announced the arrest of a serial robber who stuck up businesses at gunpoint and who was wanted for stabbing a teenager in Harlem.
Donovan Dixon, 30, was arrested yesterday hours after the NYPD released the suspect’s mugshot from a previous arrest. The NYPD identified Dixon in the stabbing of a 16-year-old male in Harlem and four commercial gunpoint robberies.
Dixon was charged with assault in the stabbing of the teen in the neck. He was also charged with found counts of robbery dating back to last December.
At around 6:30 pm on September 28, Dixon had gotten into a dispute with a 16-year-old male in front of a grocery store on East 116th Street. Cops said Dixon then walked up to the teen, pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.
The attacker then fled on foot.
The victim suffered a large puncture wound to his neck and was rushed by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem.
Cops said the victim was listed in critical yet stable condition.
During an investigation, police identified Dixon as the main suspect in the stabbing. They are also looking for Dixon in connection with at least three gunpoint robberies throughout upper Manhattan.
