NEW YORK - The NYPD is searching for a man who shoved an elderly subway rider onto the tracks in Midtown.
The NYPD released surveillance video taken from the subway station that shows the suspect with a gray sweatshirt draped over his head.
At around 5:40 am on November 15, an 85-year-old man was standing on the B and D Train platform at West 47th Street and The Avenue of the Americas. Cops said the suspect began arguing with the elderly straphanger.
Suddenly the suspect shoved the 85-year-old off the subway platform and onto the tracks, cops said.
The suspect fled the station.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital. Miraculously the victim only suffered a laceration to his left knee.
The suspect is described as a male who is 5 foot 8 with a medium complexion and a medium build.
He was last seen wearing black pants, a black long sleeve shirt, a grey hooded sweatshirt on his head and carrying a black coat.
