BRONX - A 19-year-old Bronx man was wounded in the latest in a series of shootings that have taken place across the borough.



In the latest shooting police officers from the 52nd Precinct were called to 179 East 205 Street and the Grand Concourse at 2:05 p.m. on October 28.


A police source stated, “Upon arrival officers were informed that a 19-year-old male was shot in the leg. The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.” 


Police have made no arrests in the case and could not immediately provide a description of the gunman.

Meanwhile the NYPD is still investigating the fatal shooting of a still-unidentified 58-year-old male victim who was shot and killed outside of 1285 Washington Avenue at 8:07 p.m. on October 27. Officials say officers from the 42nd Precinct discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and died a short time later at St. Barnabas Hospital.




Detectives in the 44th Precinct have announced an arrest in an October 17 homicide that occurred at East 170 Street and Morris Avenue at just before 7 a.m. Officers discovered the 35-year-old victim, later identified as Jose Valarezo of Wallace Avenue, who had been stabbed in the groin. Valarezo was rushed to BronxCare Hospital where he died a short time later.



Later the same day detectives announced the arrest of an unidentified 14-year-old female who was charged with murder, manslaughter, robbery, grand larceny, petit larceny, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.


All charges are merely accusations by the district attorney until proven in a court of law.
