Man Wearing $100 Slippers Rips Necklace Off Elderly Woman

BRONX - Cops are searching for a man who was wearing $100 slippers when he ripped an elderly woman’s necklace from her. 


At around 9 am on October 4, an 82-year-old woman was standing in front of 2960 Grand Concourse, across from St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church. 


Cops said a man in a grey hoodie walked up to the woman and grabbed the necklace the she was wearing. He ripped it off her neck, hopped on a black and orange scooter and rode off eastbound on East 201st Street. 


The victim did not sustain any injuries. 


Cops said the necklace is valued at $800. 


Police released surveillance video of the suspect who appears to be wearing a pair of White/Pure Platinum Nike Jordan Hydro 6 Slides. A pair of similar sandals is selling for $100 on eBay. 


The suspect was also seen wearing a grey hoodie and a black mask white jeans and black socks.
