Second MTA Worker in a Month Assaulted at Same Bronx Subway Station

BRONX - A second MTA worker has been assaulted within the same month and at the same Bronx subway station in yet another unprovoked attack, cops said.  



At around noon on September 28, a 53-year-old MTA employee was working inside the East 238 Street & Nereid Avenue subway station in Wakfield. A man walked up to the subway worker and punched him in the face with a closed fist. 


Cops said the attack was unprovoked. The attacker fled out of the station.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.


This is the second attack in the same month at the Number 2 and 5 train station.  



On September 12, a 74-year-old MTA employee, Baboo Singh, was working at the station when he was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack. The victim suffered a fractured nose and fractured facial bone in the assault. 


Police would go on to arrest 30-year-old Anthony Williams for the attack. Williams was charged with assault and harassment. 


In the latest assault police released surveillance video of the suspect. He is a male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a blue Du-rag, green hoodie and a back pack.
